Skill, quest and settings mockups — every menu screen now has one
I drew two mockups each for the last side menu screens: skills, quests and settings. Skills became a list + details without the scene preview, quests a list + details, and settings one window in two columns with no preview panel. All menu mockups are done.
For save/load I went with option 1, the list, in 168. Of the 8 side menu items, only Skills, Quests and Settings still had no mockups.
There's no quest system yet, and the only things you could call settings are F6 to toggle background music and the ultimate cutscene playback in the combat debug tools.
Screens I built
For skills I reworked option 1. Option 1 has a character switcher (◀ Karin ▶), filters (All, Normal, Ultimate), skill rows (icon, name, Normal/Ultimate badge, range and target, TP) and SKILL INFO on the right.
SKILL INFO originally had a scene preview too, but looking at it again, it wasn't really needed, so I took it out. In its place I drew a big skill icon + name, ultimate badge and TP, the description, stats, and a large RANGE grid. The RANGE grid is a diamond grid with range tiles in blue and the caster in orange. I put in Karin's 2 skills (Greatsword Slam, 10 TP, range 2; Aurora Slash, 50 TP, range 3). Greatsword Slam's description in the data was a dev note, so I used example text instead.
For quests, option 1 as is. In Progress / Completed tabs, quest rows split into Main and Side (client and location, progress bar 1 / 2), and a ◆ on the quest you're tracking. The QUEST panel on the right has the description, OBJECTIVE checkboxes (completed ones crossed out), REWARD and F Track on Screen.
The NPC names (Elise the receptionist, Noel the merchant, Bran the blacksmith, Pia the kid minding the house) and locations are real, but the content, objectives and rewards of all 4 quests are placeholders.
For settings I reworked option 2. Option 2 was a single list + a PREVIEW panel on the right. I removed the preview panel and split one wide window into two columns: DISPLAY (left) and SOUND and GAME (right). The bottom row has a description and Reset to Default / F Apply buttons.
The options include resolution (◀ 2560×1440 ▶), display mode, quality, V-sync, volume, text speed and ultimate cutscene playback. Things like the 3 volume settings, resolution and text speed are still just proposals. The rejected options (big skill cards, 2×2 quest cards, settings with category tabs) are kept.
Next up
- Skills: clean up the description text, draw the range grid
- Quests: the whole system (data, progress and completion, rewards, on-screen tracking)
- Settings: separate volume controls (AudioMixer), resolution and display mode changes, saving settings (PlayerPrefs), linking F6 to the settings value
