A cart overlapping a rock by the pond, and a boat that looked flooded
Removed a rock that overlapped the cart by the pond and made the pond rocks go through a free-space check. The boat's floor sat below the water, so it looked flooded; I raised it above the surface.
Looking around the pond, a cart and a rock were overlapping. The small boat also looked like it had water inside, depending on the camera angle.
What I built
I raised the boat by about 17 cm. Now the inside floor sits 6 cm above the water surface, and the bottom of the hull is about 10 cm under. This was shot with a check camera without post-processing, so it looks darker than it really is.
I deleted the rock overlapping the cart. It's applied to the current scene right away, and I fixed the generator too, so rebuilding gives the same result. I compared the 112 village props against each other, and the 70 riverside rocks against the 123 props, and this was the only overlapping pair.
Rabbit hole: a rock stuck in the cart's spot
The cart and a big rock were placed in almost the same spot (90% overlap horizontally). The cart is part of the carpentry shop's backyard prop set, so it went through a free-space check, but the rocks around the pond were placed randomly with no check. That was the cause. I changed the pond rocks to go through the free-space check too (0.3 m margin for small stones, 1.0 m for big rocks). Even when a rock gets skipped, the random numbers are still drawn in the same order, so nothing else in the layout changes.
Rabbit hole: the boat looked flooded
The boat's inside floor was about 11 cm below the water surface, so the transparent water surface was being drawn inside the boat too. I moved the boat from 12 cm below the surface to 4.6 cm above it, and that fixed it.
Next up
- Big trees are bunched up southwest of the pond, so looking from there, the camera ends up inside the leaves. The transparency from 137 only covers houses
- I didn't rebake the NavMesh (the cart covers most of where the deleted rock was)
