Getting the mug handle truly inside the fist, and hiding the dagger poking through Garen's hand
The handle was still outside the fist, so I moved the grip point to the middle of the first joints of the index and pinky fingers. The twin daggers poking through Garen's hand are now hidden on all seated guests.
Looking again after 153-1, it still didn't look like the handle was being gripped. Garen also had a blade poking out through the hand, so I decided to hide that too.
Screens I built
The distance between the handle bar and the middle of the index and pinky joints went from over 3 cm down to 1.3 cm (about the thickness of the inside of the fingers). For both Garen and Pelli, the mug tilt is 0°, the front edge is at 0.15 m (inside the table's front edge at 0.22 m), and the bottom is at 0.62 m (above the thighs). The number of daggers visible in Garen's hands is now 0.
Rabbit hole: the handle outside the fist
The grip point I set in 153-1 was actually 2.5 cm above and 1.5 cm in front of the first finger joints. So the fist just looked stuck to the side of the mug.
I changed the grip point to the middle of the first joints of the index and pinky fingers, and put the middle of the handle bar 1.2 cm toward the palm and 0.4 cm toward the wrist from there.
Rabbit hole: twin daggers through Garen's hand
The Garen model was originally a twin-dagger adventurer, so it had daggers in the hand prop slots. I made the sitting function turn off weapons in the hand prop slots, so no seated guest holds a weapon now. Standing NPCs keep their weapons as before.
Next up
- The SD hands are small (5.7 cm across the knuckles), so a bit of the top of the handle shows above the fist. The handle size is tied to the mug size, so I'm leaving it as is for now
