Welcome to the Third development log of my personal 3D fantasy SRPG project!
In this episode, I've completely rebuilt the village
While preserving the original village layout and key locations, I redesigned everything from buildings and terrain to forests, rivers, and the surrounding landscape.
My goal wasn't simply to improve the graphics, but to create a more immersive fantasy village that feels alive and enjoyable to explore.
🛠️ **What's New in This Update**
- Completely rebuilt the village in a new Unity scene while preserving the original as a backup - Customized building structures to create more architectural variety - Reworked the central plaza, residential areas, marketplace, and village outskirts - Created a detailed natural environment featuring rivers, bridges, ponds, forests, and distant snowy mountains - Added wind animations to trees, grass, and foliage - Enhanced environmental details with various props and decorations - Implemented horizontal camera rotation for better exploration - Added automatic building transparency when the camera intersects buildings - Integrated the existing SD character into the redesigned environment
🌿 **Bringing the Village to Life**
One of my main priorities was making the environment feel more natural and lively.
Trees and grass sway in the wind, rivers flow through the landscape, and smoke rises from the chimneys.
Small environmental details help transform the village from a static 3D scene into a living fantasy world.
I also improved the camera system, allowing players to rotate their view horizontally and appreciate the scenery from different angles.
When the camera intersects a building, the entire building automatically becomes transparent to prevent visual obstruction.
🎮 **Development Environment**
- Game Engine: Unity 6 (URP) - 3D Modeling: Blender 5.2 - AI Development: Claude Code - Development Tools: Unity MCP / Blender MCP
This is a personal hobby project inspired by classic tactical RPGs.
The game is still in its early stages of development, and I'll continue documenting my progress through future devlogs.
Thanks for watching!
